I like a can of coke. Not the diet, zero, light crap that is branded to be a healthier version of coke, I like the full fat, tastes like little drops of heaven coke. I also think it’s somewhat rude to watch a football match without a bottle of cider or glass of wine. There’s a lot of sugar and calories in fizzy and alcoholic drinks however and after a bank holiday weekend spent diving between the two, a detox is welcomed. I’ve decided I’m only allowed to drink water or tea. I don’t know how long this will last, it’s only four days til the weekend and you know the weekend is a different ball game but I’m trying to be good.
Now to aid these efforts I bought a £10 water bottle from urban outfitters that says ‘I uber to the gym’. It wasn’t really necessary, I don’t know if it will make me drink more water but it’s pretty and I want to carry it with me all the time so there’s a chance it will actually work. I’ve also reconnected with the water drinking app I downloaded and haven’t opened since January. The app ‘water log’ sends me notifications at hourly intervals telling me to drink more water. When you’re busy working it’s easy to get carried away and forget to drink. I don’t drink enough water so i like that this app reminds me. I can also log how much water i drink and i can compare it against the targets i set.
I’m really trying this time and so far today it’s going well. So yep i haven’t checked in since last week so thought i’d share a quick update of what’s going on with me. Keeping hydrated is very important and while sugary drinks taste nice, they’re very bad for you. I’m a believer in moderation but when you’ve overdone it, it’s nice to have a little detox. I’m also on the salads this week as well but i don’t hold much hope for that.
