Monday’s don’t have to suck…

I enjoyed doing my weekend in pictures post so much so for today’s blogmas piece i thought i’d do a day in the life and share a picture diary of what i got up to last Monday. I don’t believe Monday’s have to be miserable, life is what you make it, and for me i had a pretty nice day.

So the day started at 5,30am as normal. I got up and made a breakfast of tea and cereal. I only have one cup of tea a day and that is first thing on a morning so i always look forward to getting up and having my morning cuppa. I sat down with my breakfast and watched some Vlogmas and got my day off to a cosy start. If all i seem to be doing lately is watching Vlogmas tell me about it, i love Vlogmas but it’s time consuming trying to keep up. I’ve talked before on here (you can read my morning routine post here) about how i like to get up early and have some me time on a morning before work and that’s still the same. It’s one of my favourite moments in the day.

I commute to work every morning and so the next part of my morning involved getting the train. This morning i got to start my new book. I bought Lindsey Kelk’s I heart London. I’ve been reading a lot of thrillers lately and whilst i’ve been enjoying that genre, it’s not something i want to read at this time of year. In December i like read something more light-hearted so i chose this book. I’ve never read anything by Lindsey before but i had heard she was a great author. This book i believe is rom-com style so it’s right up my street. I’m looking forward to reading this.

I spent most of my day at work but afterwards i had cinema plans. I made a sneaky stop off at Tesco on my way home from work to pick up some cakes because i fancied a treat. I ended up buying Mr Kipling’s frosted fancies. This is the first time i’ve had these this year and i’d forgot how much i loved these little drops of heaven. Yum.

I did have tea before the cake and tonight i made spag bol with homemade turkey meatballs. Yum. The pictures not the best because i was too hungry to hang about playing with the camera (not even sorry).

Food eaten it was time for the cinema. I went to an unlimited screening of Office Christmas Party which by the way is one of the funniest films i’ve seen this year. So good and well worth a watch. When i got to the cinema there was an assistant at the door of the screening and she was handing out free santa hats which was a cute festive touch.

I didn’t do anything after the cinema because it was a school night, although the film had seriously tempted me to go out and get a little merry. I was good however and went home for a hot shower and bed. I of course put on Christmas pjs because why would you wear anything else at this time of year.

So yeah a simple weeknight but i had a lovely day/evening. I started a new book, went cinema, made one of my fave homecooked meals and had cake. Who says Mondays have to be shit because i certainly don’t.
